I've examined the available chapter pages online. I see only a Spanish and English translation. I am interested to send this to a child I sponsor in Brazil through the WORLD VISION organization. I am not sure how to send this internationally. Anyone know of a Portuguese edition available. I would be trying to ship it to Brazil.Thank you.

I'm sorry to say that The Alchemist has to be the biggest disappointment for me(when it comes to reading) in 2009. I really cannot understand what is so life changing about this story. I probably make it sound like I hated this book, that's not the case but I was just really disappointed after all the hype about this book.

I got about halfway through the book before I decided to download it in Portuguese as well. This was a great book, I read it in about two days. It's an easy read and a simple style. Now that I'm through the English translation, I've gone back and started to read the Portuguese version. I would recommend it for anyone who speaks Portuguese as a second language, as lots of Brazilian literature is complex and hard to work through, this book is simple and to the point.

I also received 2 extra books by the same author as a bonus. I was very pleased, and surprised at the excellent condition of the book. It appeared brand-new. I was thrilled. Thanks again.
